A message from Leitrim to the G8 leaders

If Barack Obama, David Cameron or any of the other G8 leaders happen to fly over Manorhamilton as they travel to the summit in Enniskillen on 17th – 18th June next they might spot some of the sign age that is springing up around north Leitrim in anticipation of their visit on the hot topic of fracking. The Love Leitrim Group have been busy ensuring their message is seen by land and air and even the sheep grazing at Foxfield in Manorhamilton were anxious that no-one was going to pull the wool over their eyes. No doubt they too believe fracking should be “Baaned”. And maybe the US President might sign up to the anti-fracking campaign if he noticed the sign on the Enniskillen Road mimicking his own campaign slogan by using his limo to join in the tractor run from Manorhamilton to Glenfarne on Sunday 16th. June. The organisers tell us that himself and Michelle can avail of a welcoming cup of tea at the run’s conclusion and have a twirl around the floor in the Ballroom of Romance.. Make a nice break from all that auld politics stuff Mr. President.

The photos are great – love the field art especially! We’d be delighted to offer any of the G8 members a cup of tea at Glenfarne on Sunday…
